Did you miss me? I sure as heck missed you guys! I'm not going to lie either, I really missed having full access to the Internet. I used my phone for important stuff, like for email or googling, texting, etc, but for browsing and blog reading, I like using the computer. I've got a lot of blog reading to do. I can just imagine how much I've missed.
So, what the heck has been going on, let's see, Moving is DONE!!! The unpacking is mostly done. I still need to get a few pieces of furniture so I can finish and put stuff away. The place is actually much bigger than it looks. Once all our furniture and things started going in I wasn't sure, but surprisingly it all fits better than expected. Sunday night when I got out of work, I headed over here to sleep here for the first time…alone. So I could start unpacking everything. This is what I was greeted with…
LOL. Even though all the boxes were nicely labeled so they could be put in their perspective rooms, to get ready for unpacking, everything was piled into the living room. Everything. Even the dryer. Then couch was standing up on it's side. If you look at the picture closely, you can see it…kind of. It was a complete mess. I guess that's what happens when you leave men in charge of things, LOL. Oh well. I stayed up that first night until two rearranging everything. I would have dragged the dryer into the laundry room, but I didn't want to risk scratching the tile, so off to the side it was. Then I put the couch down. I moved some things around and Now it looks like this. It's not done.
Because we needed room for the computer and office stuff, I came up with a design to essentially make one room into two. The front half of the room is the living room and the back half of it is going to be the office. The couch is acting as the divider. I need to get another bookshelf unit to put next to the desk and a small armchair, then I can put everything away and start decorating.
Even thought I'm not thrilled about unpacking, I am thrilled about rearranging furniture and decorating. I love rearranging furniture and decorating. When I was in high school there were three things I wanted to go to college for -- one was English, one was culinary, and the other was Interior Design(or any sort of design for that matter). Even though I never pursued either of those paths on a career level, they are still the three things I enjoy the most. And they are the three things that *I think* I am best at.
Once it's completely done, I will be sure to post the results. I'm even considering doing a series of posts on how to decorate and get the most use of space when decorating a small apartment….we'll see how I do first before I finalize that idea though! Well, I hope everyone has a fantastic day!
