Ever have one of
those days where you just wish you could go back to bed? Yesterday was one of
those days. It started off with me not being able to fall asleep until 5 in the
morning (then having to get up at 6) Then the day just went downhill from there. Yesterday was one of those I want to move to a cave and live in solitude for
the rest of my life days. So glad it's over!
One of my goals for
2013 is to be clutter free and get rid of the junk! I started with the kitchen
the other day. It looks so great now and clutter free. The next project on my
list is magazines…dun dun dun. We all have magazines.
I am one of those people that HATES getting
rid of anything for fear that I MAY need it in the future so this was hard. I
tell myself that I'm going to read the magazine again, but most of the time it
ends up never being opened again thus creating a pile of unnecessary junk.
Magazines are a big source of clutter. Well, I decided to part with them….buy
first I cut out anything in them I wanted; recipes, project pictures,
inspiration. Anything. Then tossed that sucker into the trash. Once you cut
something out, put it in a freezer bag
by category - recipes, products, book reviews, inspiration - then, glue it into
it's own separate notebook whenever you have a chance. The recipes don't get
glued, I have folders for them (we'll get to that at a later date). That is one
of my bigger projects.
I love notebooks,
and journals or all sizes shapes and colors but for this project I'm using
composition books that I found at the dollar store. It's funny because when I
was teen I used to do this with my mothers old magazines
This way I don't have 100 magazines lying
around and I don't regret throwing that magazines away because I cut out
everything I wanted. And, it saves the stress of searching through a stack of magazines trying to look for something I thought I saw only to never find it again.

I love this idea! You get rid of clutter, but get to save all your favorites in a crafty journal:)
